Baby Carrier Straps
by Rita Sheppard
I think that the width and spacing of baby carrier straps have as much to do with comfort as thick padding. Trying the carrier out to see where the straps will rest on your shoulders can make all the difference in whether or not the weight of your baby wears you out in a hurry.
In my opinion the wider the baby carrier straps, the more evenly distributed the load. A well-fitted waist band helps but the shoulders are under a lot of pressure. The more muscles that are involved the less likely you are for any one group to be under too much strain.
Of course you want the straps to be strong and the entire piece to have sturdy construction but with convertible options such as the ability to switch from front to back carry positions will keep you going hours longer than a carrier that is not adjustable.
It's my opinion that the Action carrier would be a comfortable product and I love the Bedalia print.
